How Cirque, Disney beat COVID-19 to put magic into ‘Drawn to Life’
On his office calendar, “Drawn to Life” writer-director Michel Laprise penciled in the show’s opening five times, as it was pushed back again and again for more than a year —a tangible sign of how the COVID-19 pandemic played havoc with the first new Cirque du Soleil show at Walt Disney World in more than 20 years.The pandemic-caused delay ultimately changed the show, which finally opened Nov. 18, in ways they creative team couldn’t have imagined.
