SEC orders owner of Fort Lauderdale firm to pay $496,000 for penny stock fraud scheme

A former Fort Lauderdale businessman failed to pay $496,000 to the Securities and Exchange Commission for manipulating stock prices to make an Illinois penny stock company look attractive to investors, the SEC said.
