Orlando Science Center explores cosmos with Astro Fest
Orlando Science Center is hosting Astro Fest, a collection of cosmic activities and rocket science, this weekend.
Among the activities will be a live stage show about the upcoming Artemis mission to the moon. There also will be guided tours through the solar system and the Astronaut Training Zone, games that represent skills needed to be a space traveler. Dr. Dare’s lab will be open with chemistry experiments.
The science center recently upgraded its Our Planet, Our Solar System, which features STEM activities.
Also on the Loch Haven Park museum’s schedule for the weekend are showings of the big-screen film “Apollo 11: First Steps Edition” and “Out of This World AR Art” in KidsTown. A complete daily schedule will be available at guest services or online at osc.org/calendar.
A more Earth-bound pursuit would be the current exhibition titled “Dogs! A Science Tail,” which will be available along with all four levels of the science center during Astro Fest.
The activities are included with regular admission to the science center. A one-day ticket is $24 ($18 for ages 2-11). Operating hours on Saturday and Sunday are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, go to OSC.org.
