Big Hair bands lined up for next Monsters of Rock cruise

Some of the headliners for the Monsters of Rock Cruise coming in 2025 will be collecting their first Social Security checks, but that’s never stopped the popular event from selling out.

Now prepping for its 13th sailing, the themed cruise that celebrates heavy metal bands from the 80s will feature Tesla, Extreme, Winger, Queensrÿche, LA Guns, Slaughter, Faster Pussycat, Krokus, Vixen and more.

Tesla lead singer Jeff Keith turned 65 this year. Coming up on “retirement” age are Winger lead singer and founder Kip Winger and Extreme lead vocalist Gary Cherone, both now 62. Slaughter lead singer Mark Slaughter is a relatively young 59.

Michael Schenker, 69, of MSG game will be there, as will Stephen Pearcy, 67, of RATT and Michael Monroe, 62, from Hanoi Rocks. Dokken fans will get 69-year-old guitarist George Lynch’s band The Lynch Mob alongside more than 35 artists set to play on the five-night cruise.

Fans of the HBO Max superhero show “Peacemaker” can hear Wig Wam perform its theme song “Do You Wanna Taste It.”

The gathering will sail aboard the Norwegian Joy from March 10-15, 2025 from PortMiami visiting Nassau and private Bahamas island Great Stirrup Cay. One of Norwegian Cruise Line’s largest ships, the 3,850-passenger ship debuted in 2017, and features among other things a go-kart track.

The voyage will be hosted by Eddie Trunk, who for years appeared on “That Metal Show” on VH1 Classic and is now on SiriusXM. The event features multiple stages and other onboard activities including Q&A’s and events titled Gong Show Karaoke, “So You Think You Can Shred,” Cooking with Rock Stars, Painting with Rock Stars, a Rockers vs Average Joe’s sporting event, comedy and more.

Other bands slated to appear include Pretty Maids, Vandenberg, Eclipse, Hardcore Superstar, Chris Holmes, Rose Tattoo, Tyketto, The Answer, Aldo Nova, Rhino Bucket, Cold Sweat, The Cruel Intentions, Hurricane, Shiraz Lane, Massive Wagons, Jared James Nichols, Wildstreet, Sisters Doll, Midnight City, Burning Witches, Liliac, The Bites, The Iron Maidens and Hoekstra & Gibbs.

Pricier than normal cruises, cabins start at $2,699.00 per person based on double occupancy and can be booked through MonstersOfRockCruise.com.

The price has not been a deterrent, though, as the Monsters of Rock Cruise has sailed with more than 30,000 heavy metal fans in the last decade.
