7 Central Florida restaurants shut down last week
Seven Central Florida restaurants shut down the week of March 23-29, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Orange
Domino’s Pizza at 10057 University Blvd. in Orlando shut down on March 24. Inspectors found five violations, one of which was a high priority for backed-up sewage water. A second inspection occurred on March 25. There was one violation and it wasn’t a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.
Garranty Bon Bagay Restaurant at 2051 Americana Blvd. in Orlando shut down on March 24. Inspectors found two violations, one of which was a high priority for an employee serving food without washing their hands due to a lack of a hand sink. A second inspection occurred the same day. There was one violation but it wasn’t a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.
Mi Pan Boricua Cafe at 4063 S. Goldenrod Road in Orlando shut down on March 26. Inspectors found 26 violations, five of which were high priorities. Those violations included flying insects by the bread racks, five roaches found on site and putting food in nonfood-grade containers. A second inspection occurred on March 27. Officials found eight violations and issued a time extension to the lone high-priority violation for nonfood-grade containers. The restaurant met inspection standards.
Seminole
Bella’s Pizzeria at 500 State Road 436 in Casselberry shut down on March 25. Inspectors found 16 violations, two of which were high priorities for roach activity and an employee working with food without washing their hands.
There were two more inspections on March 26. On the first inspection, the restaurant hadn’t complied with the emergency order. On the final inspection, there were 11 violations, but none was a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.
Knights Table Diner at 3925 Lockwood Blvd. in Oviedo shut down on March 26. Inspectors found 19 violations, four of which were high priorities. Those violations included flying insects, raw food stored over ready-to-eat food and fish not being fully cooked nor discarded. A second inspection occurred on March 27. Inspectors found nine violations and issued a time extension for flying insects. The restaurant requires a follow-up inspection but doesn’t pose a threat to the public.
Brevard
Lina’s Fresh Cuisine at 3550 Bayside Lake Blvd. SE in Palm Bay shut down on March 28. Inspectors found seven violations, two of which were high priorities. Those violations included an employee working with food without washing their hands and not having potable running water. A second inspection took place on April 1. The restaurant had two violations but none was a high priority. The restaurant requires a follow-up inspection but doesn’t pose a threat to the public.
Hot Wok at 1887 Knox McRae Drive in Titusville shut down on March 25. Inspectors found 13 violations, five of which were high priorities. Those violations included rodent activity, an improperly stored toxic substance and raw food stored over unwashed produce. A second inspection occurred on March 26, there were four violations. None was a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.
Complaints and warnings
Orange County had the top spot for most warnings and other complaints in Central Florida with 37.
Volusia had 21, Lake had 12, Brevard had 12, Seminole had seven and Osceola had seven.
