Inspections: 3 Central Florida restaurants shut down last week

Three Central Florida restaurants shut down the week of Dec. 10-16, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Orange

Nan King Restaurant LLC at 6618 Old Winter Garden Road in Orlando shut down on Dec. 11. Inspectors found 30 violations, eight of which were a high priority.

Those violations included improperly stored medicine, dented cans, a soiled metal-stem thermometer and roach activity.

A second inspection on Dec. 12 found 10 violations, only one of which was a high priority.

Officials conducted a third and final inspection on Dec. 13. They found eight violations. None were a high priority.

The restaurant met inspection standards.

Mee Thai Restaurant at 1200 Lee Road in Orlando shut down on Dec. 14. Inspectors found 18 violations and only one high priority for rodent activity.

A follow-up inspection on Dec. 15 found six violations, but none were a high priority.

The restaurant met inspection standards.

Osceola

Krispy Krunchy Chicken at 904 Cypress Parkway in Kissimmee shut down on Dec. 14. Officials found seven violations, only one of which was a high priority for roach activity.

The restaurant is still closed at this time.

Complaints and warnings

Orange County had the top spot for most warnings and other complaints in Central Florida, with 48.

Osceola had 16, Lake had 13, Volusia had 12, Brevard had nine, and Seminole had two. Warnings given with required follow-up inspections could lead to a business being shut down if problems remain.
