Plans filed for second massive lakefront home in Winter Park

Side-by-side lots on Park Ave in Winter Park will soon be side-by-side construction sites.

Plans were just submitted under the name “1190 North Park Avenue Land Trust” to the city’s Planning and Zoning Department for an 11,983-square-foot house at 1190 N Park Ave, according to a report in GrowthSpotter.

Public records show the owners are Mark and Chloe Daley who bought the nearly 2-acre lot late last year for $6.85 million.

With added porches and garages, the proposed home is a bit bigger than the one going up next door at 1180 N. Park Ave which is 12,825-square-feet of living space.

The city’s Planning and Zoning Board approved plans for that home at their May 7 meeting. According to the City, the next step is to proceed through the standard permitting process and then construction can begin.

Next door, Geoffrey Moen Architects is designing the two-story at 1190 N Park Ave with 7,391-square-feet on the first floor and an additional 4,592-square-feet on the second floor. A grand staircase off the foyer leads to the second floor, but there’s also a second staircase off the kitchen and an elevator.

Two of the upstairs bedrooms have private balconies with glass railings, so as not to impede on the views of Lake Maitland and the expansive infinity pool.

Landscape architect Mills Design Group took the lead on the outdoor space. The pool has multiple areas for entertaining, sitting, and lounging, both in and out of the water. Seating areas and multiple fire features flank the pool. For recreation, there is a tennis court near the front of the house and a new boat house.

Also on the main level, plans show an office, dining room, family room, a two-story great room with views to the pool on one side and a winding staircase on the other, and a club room with a wine room. An elevator is near the main staircase and close to another staircase that goes between floors.

The kitchen features double islands and a breakfast area with multiple doors leading outside to a covered outdoor kitchen and lounging space.

A playroom and laundry room are off the other side of the kitchen, with a butler’s pantry connecting the prep areas to the dining room.

Upstairs, there are two wings connected by a balcony that overlooks the great room. The plans include a mother-in-law suite and four additional en suite bedrooms, as well as a study, movie theater, wet bar, golf simulator, and gym.

A curved driveway will come from the street and leads to a motor court with a checkerboard pattern and central water fountain. Multiple car garages are on two sides with the entrance to the house in front. Each garage has an approximately 324-square-foot guest suite over it.

Homebuilder Charlie Clayton’s late parents, Joan and Charles Clayton lived in the home that was once on the site. The vacant lot sold in October 2023 after the home that was on it was demolished.

The Winter Park Planning and Zoning Board will consider the plans for the home at 1190 N Park Ave. at its June 11 meeting.
