Homeowners who fell behind on their mortgage payments and other expenses can now apply for help through an online portal accessible from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s website. Florida is distributing at least $575 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds. Qualifying homeowners are eligible for up to $50,000 to pay past-due mortgage, utility, property tax and insurance bills.
