After 6 years of anticipation following Disney Co.’s announcement in 2016 that they would be adding a new ship to its cruise line fleet, the day of the Wish’s inaugural sailing for guests has arrived. On July 14, 2022, the ship sets sail from its new home in Port Canaveral on a 5-night cruise to The Bahamas. Photographed from June 20 to July 2 —from its arrival in Florida to its preview christening cruise— this 90-image gallery illustrates the largest ship in the Disney fleet. At 144,000 tons, the state-of-the-art, Triton-class ship accommodates 4,000 passengers and 1,555 crew in 1,254 staterooms. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel)
