6 Central Florida restaurants shut down last week amid health inspections

Six Central Florida restaurants shut down the week of Aug. 4-10, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Ms Tea’s Bento at 10376 E. Colonial Dr. Unit 126 in Orlando shut down on Aug. 7. Inspectors found 26 violations, six of which were a high priority. Those violations included an improperly stored container of medicine, rodent activity and raw food stored over ready-to-eat food in a freezer. A second inspection took place on Aug. 8. Officials found two violations but neither were a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.

Los Brothers Latin Food at 5205 Edgewater Dr. Suite A in Orlando shut down on Aug. 7. Inspectors found 19 violations, six of which were a high priority. Those violations included an employee working with food before washing their hands, an employee not putting on gloves before working with food and an employee washing their hands with no soap. A second inspection occurred on Aug. 8. Officials found nine violations, two of which were time extensions for high priorities. A follow-up inspection is required but there is no immediate threat to the public. read more
