How to Choose the Perfect Grout Color for Your Home

How to Choose the Perfect Grout Color for Your Home

When you’re updating or installing tile in your home, choosing the grout color may feel like a minor decision. But don’t underestimate its impact! Grout is the finishing touch that ties your tiles together, and its color plays a key role in the overall look and feel of your space. Whether you want your grout to blend in for a unified look or stand out for a bold statement, choosing the right grout color is essential.

Here’s a helpful guide to walk you through the factors to consider and how you can use grout color to bring your design vision to life.

Factors to Consider When Choosing Grout Color

1. Tile Color

Your tile is the most important factor when deciding on a grout color. Matching or coordinating your grout to the color of your tiles creates a harmonious look, while contrasting colors add visual interest. For example:

  • p]:inline” style=”border: 0px solid #e0e0e1;–tw-border-spacing-x: 0;–tw-border-spacing-y: 0;–tw-translate-x: 0;–tw-translate-y: 0;–tw-rotate: 0;–tw-skew-x: 0;–tw-skew-y: 0;–tw-scale-x: 1;–tw-scale-y: 1;–tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity;–tw-ring-offset-width: 0px;–tw-ring-offset-color: #fff;–tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 #0000;–tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 #0000;–tw-shadow: 0 0 #0000;–tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 #0000″>Contrast for Impact: Pairing black grout with white tiles creates a striking and modern grid-like effect that makes your tile pattern stand out.

Keep in mind that more neutral grout colors tend to be timeless, while vibrant hues might suit a bold, eclectic style.

2. Room Size Matters

The size of the space you’re working with can also influence which grout color will work best. If you’re tiling a small bathroom or backsplash in a compact kitchen, lighter grout colors can make the space feel larger and more open. Darker grout, while dramatic and stylish, may create a more enclosed feel in tighter spaces. read more

Disney: Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon both open this summer

Disney: Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon both open this summer

For the first time since the pandemic era began, both Walt Disney World water parks will be open to guests at the same time. The resort’s Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon will be available to the public starting May 21, the Wednesday before Memorial Day.

The water parks closed down as a coronavirus pandemic precaution with the rest of Disney World in March 2020. Disney kept the two attractions closed until early March of 2021, when Blizzard Beach returned to the schedule.  Typhoon Lagoon reopened in January 2022, but Blizzard Beach then closed.

Since then, Disney World has operated the water parks on a one-open/open-closed schedule.

Currently, Blizzard Beach, which has been celebrating its 30th anniversary, is open for business. It is scheduled to close again May 1, the day Typhoon Lagoon is set to reopen, Disney World announced Tuesday. But Blizzard Beach will return to the schedule May 21 through Sept. 7, Disney says.

Typhoon Lagoon again will off the Disney H2O Glow After Hours, a three-hour nighttime event held on 18 select nights starting May 23. Tickets are $85 ($42.50 for ages 3-9) and go on sale to the public on April 4. read more
