SunRail suffered another setback this week when the state announced funding for the final 12-mile extension to DeLand would be diverted elsewhere. It’s not clear what that means for the final leg of the project. What is clear is SunRail leaders need to get past this and focus on making the 49 miles of existing rail as viable as possible. Central Florida must have mass transit, and SunRail is the only track to that future.
