Developer plans Orange County apartment community for formerly homeless

For-profit developer Wendover Housing Partners is about to break ground this spring on Durham Place, a $28 million, 100-unit apartment community in unincorporated Orange County. Though the design will look market-rate, Wendover says, the residents will all be formerly homeless men, women and children. Durham Place will be what’s known as permanent supportive housing — with on-site child care, health care, employment services, GED and life-skills classes.
