Auto insurance costs Floridians more than nearly everywhere else in the U.S., study finds
Florida drivers pay the second-highest share of their incomes on auto insurance in the nation, behind only Louisiana. Why? Basically because we’re lousy drivers who get in lots of crashes, we stage crashes with injuries to drive up medical bills, we let windshield installers give us gift cards so they can cheat insurers, and about one in five of us cheat everyone else by driving without insurance at all.
