On the day before it planned to downgrade the financial strength ratings of a large number of Florida-based insurance companies, ratings agency Demotech has postponed release of ratings “until further notice.” Demotech CEO Joseph Petrelli, in a letter to Florida Insurance Commissioner David Altmaier, attributed the delay to “various circumstances.”
