6 Central Florida restaurants shut down last week
Six Central Florida restaurants shut down the week of July 30-Aug 5, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Orange
Napasorn Thai Restaurant 56 E. Pine St. Unit 100 in Orlando shut down on July 31. Inspectors found 26 violations, five of which were a high priority. Those violations included, flying insects, raw food not separated from ready-to-eat food, roach activity and food held at the wrong temperatures.
Inspectors made two visits on Aug. 1. On one visit, they found 12 violations. On the second visit, they found 10 violations.
During the second visit, there was only one high-priority violation for raw food not separated from ready-to-eat food. Officials issued a time extension for it.
The restaurant met inspection standards.
Mr. Quick Restaurant at 5615 W. Colonial Dr. in Orlando shut down on Aug 2. Inspectors found 13 violations, two of which were a high priority for rodent activity and a broken dish machine.
A second inspection the same day found 10 violations, however, none were a high priority.

Brick And Fire at 1621 S. Orange Ave. in Orlando shut down on Aug. 3. Inspectors found 19 violations, five of which were a high priority. Those violations included an employee touching ready-to-eat food with their bare hands, flying insects in the kitchen, roach activity and an improperly stored chemical substance.
Another visit took place on Aug. 4. There were six violations, none of which were a high priority.
The restaurant met inspection standards.
Lake
Brisas Del Mar Mexican Restaurant And Grill at 360 U.S. 441 S. in Lady Lake shut down on Aug. 2. Inspectors found 47 violations, 11 of which were a high priority. Those violations included flying insects, operating without a business license, roach activity, employees not changing single-use gloves and a stop sale on food due to temperature abuse.
A second visit took place on Aug. 3. Inspectors found 11 violations, three of which were a high priority for pesticide-emitting strips in the food area, dishwashing sanitizer at the wrong strength and improper temperature control for food.
The restaurant met inspection standards.
Seminole
8-8 Panda at 500 State Road 436 Suite 1000 in Casselberry shut down on July 31. Inspectors found 15 violations, four of which were a high priority. Those violations included roach/rodent activity, flying insects and food held at the wrong temperatures.
Officials revisited the restaurant on Aug. 1. There were six violations, but none were a high priority.
The restaurant met inspection standards.
The Current Seafood Counter at 212 W. 1 St. Suite 1030 in Sanford shut down on Aug. 1. Inspectors found 10 violations, three of which were a high priority for food held at the wrong temperatures, roach activity and cloth sanitizer solution exceeding the maximum concentration allowed.
Officials revisited the restaurant on Aug. 2. They found one violation that wasn’t a high priority.
The restaurant met inspection standards.
Complaints and warnings
Orange County had the top spot for most warnings and other complaints in Central Florida, with 53.
Volusia had 22, Brevard had 22, Lake had 12, Osceola had 14 and Seminole had 16. Warnings given with required follow-up inspections could lead to a business being shut down if problems remain.
