5 Central Florida restaurants shut down last week
Five Central Florida restaurants shut down the week of July 14-20, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Orange
Neo Asian Kitchen And Boba Tea at 6760 Eagle Watch Dr. in Orlando shut down on July 15. Inspectors found 26 violations, five of which were a high priority. Those violations included roach activity, nonfood-grade bags coming into direct contact with food and raw food not separated from ready-to-eat food. A second inspection the same day found 10 violations. The restaurant received time extensions on all high-priority violations. A follow-up inspection is required, but there is no immediate threat to the public, and the restaurant was allowed to reopen.
Seminole
Winghouse Bar + Grill at 2935 S. Orlando Dr. in Sanford shut down on July 15. Inspectors found 17 violations, five of which were a high priority. Those violations included roach activity, missing vacuum breakers and using sanitizer that wasn’t at the proper strength. A second inspection the same day found 10 violations, three of which were a high priority. Authorities offered time extensions on those violations and the restaurant met inspection standards.
Mulligan’s at 165 Wekiva Springs Road #193 in Longwood shut down on July 17. Officials found 29 violations, five of which were a high priority. Those violations included roach activity, an improperly stored toxic substance and food held at the wrong temperatures. Authorities revisited the restaurant on July 18. They found 10 violations and issued a time extension for food held at the wrong temperature. The restaurant has reopened but a follow-up inspection is required.
Volusia
Cicis Pizza #194 at 2448 S. Volusia Ave. in Orange City shut down on July 17. Inspectors found 18 violations, four of which were a high priority. Those violations included flying insects, roach activity, a dish machine that didn’t work and cold food held at the wrong temperatures. Another visit on July found 15 violations and the restaurant remained closed. On July 19, officials conducted two inspections. On the first inspection, they found 10 violations and the restaurant remained closed. On the second inspection, they found eight violations and issued a time extension for flying insects. The restaurant met inspection standards.
Osceola
Tick Tok Diner at 8520 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee shut down on July 15. Inspectors found 27 violations, six of which were a high priority. Those violations included flies, rodent activity, roach activity and a stop-sale on food due to temperature abuse. A second inspection the next day found three violations. None were a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.
Complaints and warnings
Orange County had the top spot for most warnings and other complaints in Central Florida, with 82.
Volusia had 40, Brevard had nine, Seminole had 14, Osceola had 14 and Lake had eight.
