Kate Dolamore Art
Florida native Kate Dolamore is a watercolor nature artist who is best known for her field guide-style art prints, which started with backyard birds of Florida and have since grown to include butterflies, land mammals, marine mammals, freshwater fish, wildflowers, diurnal raptors and owls. She also sells stickers, ornaments, apparel, accessories and home goods featuring the flora and fauna of the Sunshine State.
“I’m a Florida native and not only do I paint things found in nature, but I spend all my free time there studying the animals, plants, and insects that inspire my art,” she says. “Florida is one of the most biodiverse states in the U.S., so I am constantly learning and never bored.”
Dolamore started her Oviedo business in 2008 because she loves the process of watercolor painting and using it to spark interest in native Florida nature. Follow her on Instagram at @thelittlenuthatch and on Facebook at @katedolamoreart.

‘Zoey’s Adventures to the Ice Cream Shop’
Several years ago, Central Florida author Ilene Lieber decided she wanted to do something new and thought: “What do I love in life?” The answer came quickly — her golden retriever Zoey, kids and writing. She then wrote “Zoey’s Adventures to the Ice Cream Shop” about her real-life adventure with Zoey.
“A lightbulb went off that I should write a children’s book starring the love of my life, Zoey,” she says. “It’s been an incredible journey seeing so many kids and families fall in love with her, too.
“I’m one of those obsessed dog moms who take their ‘babies’ with them everywhere,” she says. “It’s a super sweet story about Zoey visiting a local ice cream shop on National Ice Cream Day, and it has a nice lesson about patience and good things come to those who wait, which I like to say is great for kids and for grown-ups.”
The children’s book is available for purchase at zoeysadventuresbooks.com and on Amazon ($14.77). A portion of the proceeds support animal charitable organizations. You can follow Lieber on Facebook and Instagram at @zoeysadventuresbooks.
