4 restaurants shut down in Central Florida last week

Four Central Florida restaurants shut down the week of May 11-17, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Orange

Dimsum King & Seafood at 4192 Conroy Road, Suite 109 in Orlando shut down on May 12. Inspectors found 21 violations, seven of which were high priorities. Those violations included flying insects, rodent activity and an improperly stored toxic substance. A second inspection occurred on May 13. Inspectors found 21 violations, seven of which were high priorities. Many of the violations were either completely cleaned up or given an extension. The restaurant met inspection standards.

La Maison Du Gout at 4563 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Suites 1&2 in Orlando shut down on May 13. Inspectors found 17 violations, three of which were high priorities. Those violations included flying insects, an expired license and rodent activity. A second inspection occurred on May 14. Inspectors found 16 violations, three of which were high priorities. Inspectors gave time extensions to the violations and the restaurant was allowed to reopen even though it required a follow-up inspection.

Osceola

Sakeba at 5349 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee shut down on May 13. Inspectors found 11 violations, two of which were high priorities for raw food stored over unwashed food and roach activity. A second inspection occurred on May 14. There were zero violations. The restaurant complied with the emergency order.

Poinciana Chinese Kitchen at 874 Cypress Parkway in Kissimmee shut down on May 15. Inspectors found 15 violations, three of which were high priorities. Those violations included an expired business license, roach activity and food held at the wrong temperatures. A second inspection occurred on May 16. There were five violations, but none was a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.

Complaints and warnings

Orange County had the top spot for most warnings and other complaints in Central Florida with 29.

Volusia had 18, Osceola had 21, Lake had 11, Brevard had eight and Seminole had five.
