6 Central Florida restaurants shut down last week

Six Central Florida restaurants shut down the week of July 6-12, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Orange

Crazy Buffet at 7038 W. Colonial Dr. in Orlando shut down on July 9. Inspectors found 29 violations, three of which were high priorities for raw food not separated from ready-to-eat food, roach activity and food held at the wrong temperatures. The restaurant remained closed on July 10 because the restaurant hadn’t complied with the emergency order. On July 11, a third and final inspection occurred. Inspectors found 23 violations, with only one being a high priority. The restaurant requires a follow-up inspection, but has reopened since it poses no threat to the general public.

Judy’s Diner at 5220 Old Winter Garden Road in Orlando shut down on July 11. Inspectors found 26 violations, five of which were high priorities. Those violations included roach activity and excrement, flying insects and wiping cloth sanitizer solution exceeding the maximum concentration. A second inspection occurred the same day. Inspectors found 12 violations, none of which was deemed a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.

Prato at 124 N. Park Ave. in Winter Park shut down on July 8. Inspectors found eight violations, two of which were high priorities for rodent activity and flying insects. A second inspection occurred on July 9. Inspectors found two violations, but neither was a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards on the visit.

Volusia

Imli Indian Kitchen and Bar at 330 S. Atlantic Ave. in Ormond Beach shut down on July 8. Inspectors found eight violations, one of which was a high priority for roach activity. A second inspection occurred the same day. There were three violations, but none was a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.

Holiday Inn Daytona Beach LPGA Blvd shut down on July 8. Inspectors found 16 violations, seven of which were high priorities. Those violations included roach activity, a stop-sale on food due to it not being in sound condition and food held at the wrong temperatures. A second inspection occurred on July 11. There were two violations, only one of which was a high priority for roach activity. A third and final inspection occurred on July 12. There was one violation, but it was not a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards.

China Master at 1700 W. International Speedway Blvd., Suite 148, in Daytona Beach shut down on July 11. Inspectors found five violations, four of which were high priorities. Those violations included roach and rodent activity in addition to food being held at the wrong temperatures. A second inspection occurred the same day. Inspectors found two violations and a follow-up inspection was required. On July 12, officials conducted a third and final inspection. They found one violation, but it wasn’t a high priority. The restaurant met inspection standards. This is the second consecutive week China Master has shut down.

Complaints and warnings

Orange County had the top spot for most warnings and other complaints in Central Florida with 53.

Seminole had 21, Volusia had 31, Osceola had five, Brevard had six and Lake had three.
