Universal: Female monsters to battle in Halloween Horror Nights house

A haunted house will have an all-female lineup of monsters at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines will feature familiar names from very old school films in unusual alliances.

Universal will have Countess Marya (aka Dracula’s daughter), the She-Wolf of London, the Bride of Frankenstein, undead Egyptian princess Anck-Su-Namun and Saskia Van Helsing in the house.

The house, which Universal announced Thursday, features the countess seeking revenge for her father’s death — at the hands of Abraham Van Helsing — and teaming up with She-Wolf and the princess. Meanwhile, Saskia Van Helsing, daughter of Abraham, is helped by the Bride of Frankenstein. A Universal graphic shows the monsters armed with knives, axes, claws and scowls.

The characters are inspired by 1936’s “Dracula’s Daughter” film, “She-Wolf of London” (1946) and the 1932 version of “The Mummy.”

Universal: New ‘unlimited’ Florida-resident ticket allows entry through mid-December

This house could lean into Dark Universe territory, a land in the under-construction Epic Universe theme park, which will have an attraction centered on the experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein.

Eternal Bloodlines is the 10th and final HHN house announced for the 2024 event. Others include Major Sweets Candy Factory, Insidious, the Further, A Quiet Place, Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Triplets of Terror, The Museum: Deadly Exhibits, Goblin’s Feast and Slaughter Sinema 2.

Halloween Horror Nights, an after-hours, extra-ticket event, runs at Universal Studios Florida theme park on 48 select nights between Aug. 30 and Nov. 3. The Eternal Bloodlines house also will appear at Universal Studios Hollywood in California. That event begins Sept. 5.
