Orlando restaurant leaves its downtown home

A restaurant on downtown Orlando’s main stretch of Orange Avenue is moving out.

DoveCote Restaurant, 390 N. Orange Ave. Suite 110, revealed in a news release last week it is moving to a new location, which has not been revealed. The restaurant’s website describes the announcement as effective this past Sunday, Oct. 1.

The release said updates will follow in the “coming months.”

“My vision for DoveCote is simple: to bring local, fine dining with an upscale experience to the heart of Orlando, and build an inclusive community space for large and small gatherings that reflect the diversity and rich culture of Orlando,” said owner Rob Tazioli in the release. “This new location will allow us to further enhance that vision and better serve our community.”

DoveCote isn’t the only business to relocate from a downtown location in recent years. The Courtesy Bar left downtown Orlando for Winter Park last year.

But growth is still coming to downtown. Not far from DoveCote’s former location, the new Society Orlando apartment tower is expecting residents to start moving in by January, according to GrowthSpotter.
