EV registrations grew at a healthy pace, led by old-guard luxury brands, in the January-to-October period but are no longer taking share from gasoline and hybrid vehicles, according to the most recent new-vehicle registration data from Experian.
The $2 million share purchase by former Apple and Tesla executive Doug Fields is a show of confidence in the automaker’s future, a spokesperson said.
Wentzville Assembly will be off-line for an extra week before the holiday break, and five plants are scheduled to stay closed until Jan. 8.
