Florida consumers get back-to-school, hurricane and ‘freedom’ sales-tax holidays

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a wide-ranging tax cut bill into law Friday, which will save consumers and businesses nearly $200 million. The bill, HB 7061, includes sales tax holidays on back-to-school items and hurricane preparedness items that Floridians are used to, but also includes a sales tax holiday for outdoor recreational goods and tickets to sports and cultural events.
