Disney: Blizzard Beach water park reopening, Typhoon Lagoon closing in November
Walt Disney World’s water parks continue their one-open, one-closed operation as Blizzard Beach returns to service Nov. 6, the company announced Friday. But the last day scheduled for the currently open Typhoon Lagoon is Nov. 4.
The two attractions have alternated schedules since Blizzard Beach reopened in March 2021. Both water parks had been closed since March 2020 as a pandemic precaution. The closures have been listed as “refurbishment” on the Disney World website.
The timing will have Blizzard Beach, a snow-themed attraction, open during the upcoming holiday season. The park will have peppermint shakes and cookie decorating available as limited-time experiences. Disney also touted a couple of specialty bite-sized churros in s’more and banana split flavors.
The resort recently announced a water park seasonal pass that allows unlimited entry to whichever park is open through May 24. Its cost is $79. A schedule for future water-park operations has not been made public; this year Typhoon Lagoon opened in mid-March.
